The Gellner Residence was destroyed by fire in the winter of 2015. The owner contracted our firm to redesign a new home on the existing foundation. We assisted the owner with requirements the Insurance Company was imposing on him to create the new residence. The existing house was an expanded Cape Cod that was not fully utilizing the entire area of the building footprint. The redesigned residence went from approximately 1,800 sf to a new two-story residence that is 3,832 sf. The newly designed residence consists of a new two story entry foyer, spacious living and dining rooms, an open galley kitchen, rear family room with a fireplace, office, guest suite, attached garage, master bedroom suite that opens onto a rear roof terrace, second-floor laundry room and three additional bedrooms. The new design opens the interior to the existing wooded lot to allow natural light and enjoy the view of the property from the interior.
